Caring for the mental health of the elderly is the responsibility of the whole society. In order to meet the diversified and differentiated mental health needs of the people in the aging society at this stage, strengthen the training and training of geriatric psychological care teachers, and improve the psychological care ability of practitioners, the Chinese Geriatric Society and the National Geriatric Clinical Medical Research Center of the PLA General Hospital jointly held the first national Training Course on Geriatric Psychological Care Teachers. More than 11,400 experts and scholars from the fields of geriatric psychology, law, rehabilitation, nursing, nursing and other fields gathered in the cloud to teach and research, enjoy the feast of knowledge, and jointly draw the blueprint of geriatric psychological care.

The training course invited domestic famous experts and professors in geriatric medicine, psychology, sociology and other related fields to focus on improving the ability of geriatric psychological care services from various aspects such as policy guidance, personnel training, team building, etc. Systematic teaching and training on mental health and life cycle development of the elderly, care of common mental problems of the elderly, mental health care of the elderly in special situations such as the novel coronavirus epidemic and psychological crisis intervention.

Professor Fan Li, president of the Chinese Geriatric Society and director of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases (301 Hospital), with the theme of "Opportunities and challenges facing geriatric care under the new situation", analyzed the importance of maintaining and promoting the mental health level of the elderly to create healthy aging and active aging. Professor Zhang Qiujian, honorary director of the Expert Committee of the Chinese Geriatric Society and deputy Secretary-General of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, focused on the theme of "The Prospect of the new career of Psychological Care for the elderly", elaborated the significance of focusing on active aging, creating and cultivating the social psychology of active aging, and promoting the development of new careers, and pointed out the urgent needs of psychological care for aging. Emphasize the urgency of professional construction of geriatric psychological care teachers.

Professor Fu Xiaolan, director of the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, put forward the care concept of "people-oriented, starting from the heart", and explained how to improve individual psychological influence behavior ability in clinical work from three aspects of personality psychology, dynamic system and psychological process, and enhance mental health care skills for the elderly.

In the training course, more than 20 experts in psychology, sociology, geriatrics and nursing from Beijing and abroad combined the characteristics of geriatric psychological care and the training of psychological care teachers needed by society, focusing on the development of geriatric psychological care in the new era and new background.
