In memory of history and to honor the martyrs, and to carry forward the tradition of respecting and caring for the elderly, recently, Professor Huang Daifa, the deputy director of the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and the director of the Second Department of the Cadre Ward of the General Hospital of the Northern Theater Command, led a group of Party member medical and nursing backbone staff to carry out a theme free medical consultation on the Victory Day of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and a multi-disciplinary joint free medical consultation activity titled "Charity for the Elderly, Health Together". The event breaks the single chronic disease diagnosis and treatment model, gathers experts from multiple disciplines, and provides one-stop comprehensive health services for the elderly, bringing high-quality medical care to the elderly population.

Many elderly people have multiple diseases and suffer from various ailments. It is very inconvenient for them to visit different departments for treatment. The Second Department of the Cadre Ward, leveraging its expertise in geriatrics, has taken the lead in establishing a multi-disciplinary collaborative service platform. This enables elderly patients to address multiple health issues without having to travel back and forth. A single free medical consultation can provide health security for veterans of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and a large number of elderly people.

The atmosphere at the free medical consultation site was orderly, and many elderly people arrived early. In response to the various coexisting ailments of the elderly, experts from the Second Department of the Cadre Ward sorted out the medical history and medication, evaluated the chronic disease status, and jointly analyzed the overall condition of the elderly with experts from multiple disciplines, providing individualized treatment suggestions. Health science popularization was carried out simultaneously on the spot, explaining knowledge such as home care and safe medication use, and distributing science popularization and educational materials. Grandpa Zhang, who came for medical treatment, expressed his feelings, saying that in the past, he had to visit multiple departments to see a doctor, but this time he could consult about various health issues in one go. The experts' explanations were detailed and down-to-earth, providing us with more convenient, comprehensive and considerate health services.

This free medical consultation has provided services to over 150 elderly people. It focuses on the overall health and quality of life of the elderly, while also covering chronic disease control, functional maintenance, and elderly health care. It pays tribute to the older generation of builders through public welfare services.

Director Huang Daifa stated that under the guidance of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, the Second Department of Cadre Ward actively responded to the initiative of the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, practiced the correct view of political achievements, fully played the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members, and will continue to collaborate with various clinical departments to regularly carry out charitable and elderly assistance public welfare actions. Based on the characteristics of geriatrics, we will continuously optimize the multi-disciplinary joint free medical consultation model, focus on the practical medical treatment difficulties faced by the elderly with multiple coexisting diseases, integrate medical resources within the hospital, expand the connotation of public welfare services, effectively enhance the health literacy of the elderly group, and wholeheartedly safeguard the healthy and happy old age of the elderly.
