With the increasing aging of Chinese society, the incidence of senile skin diseases has increased significantly. In order to improve the social awareness of senile skin diseases and improve the overall diagnosis and treatment level of senile skin diseases in primary medical and nursing institutions, the Dermatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society was officially established in Beijing on July 10, 2021 with the approval of the Chinese Geriatric Society. Since the establishment of the Dermatology Branch, the branch has exerted the strength of the expert team and made continuous contributions to the cause of geriatric dermatology with a variety of activities.

In order to further promote academic interaction and development between regions and seek common progress, on November 26, the 8th China Geriatrics and Technology Innovation Conference and the 2022 Dermatology Branch Academic Annual Meeting was held in Guangzhou in a combination of online and offline. The annual meeting was jointly sponsored by the Dermatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and the Geriatric Dermatology Research Center of the Dermatology and venereology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, undertaken by the Institute of Dermatology of Guangzhou Medical University and co-organized by the Department of Dermatology and venereology of Capital Medical University.

Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Professor Lian Shi, Honorary President of the Dermatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Professor Zhu Wei, President, and Professor Zheng Jie, a well-known expert in the field of dermatology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Zhang Xibao, Vice president of the Dermatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society. The experts of the leadership team of the Dermatology Branch, the local committees and the relevant professional experts across the country participated in this annual meeting.

President Fan Li first congratulated the successful convening of the conference, and said that under the leadership of President Zhu Wei, the Dermatology Branch has filled the gap in the field of skin health of the society, and actively carried out various forms of activities, the online expert forum combined with offline science popularization and free diagnosis, academic exchanges and services for the elderly have achieved fruitful results, hoping that the branch will continue to work hard. To contribute more to the skin health of elderly people in China.

The two-day conference will feature an invited presentation and five thematic forums. First of all, Professor Zhang Xuejun of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and Professor Zheng Jie of Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine will bring to the audience the unique insight and cutting-edge development of psoriasis and immune blister in the elderly.

The following theme forums were chaired by various professional committee members, respectively, the basis and clinical of senile type 2 inflammation, skin barrier and physiological function, infectious skin diseases and venereal diseases, elderly inflammatory skin diseases, and elderly skin tumors. The reports of the experts are rich in content, including clinical analysis, guideline interpretation, practical discussion and basic progress, which greatly reflects the advantages of many expert resources of the Branch, and provides a new perspective and new exploration direction for the majority of delegates in the research and understanding of geriatric skin diseases.

On the evening of November 26, the second session of the National Committee of the Dermatology Branch was held online, and President Zhu Wei and the vice presidents reported the work completed by the members of the branch from 2021 to 2022. Since the establishment of the branch, it has not only integrated the existing regional talent resources, but also actively organized offline free diagnosis, online science popularization, and online exchange activities of multiple expert forums. Effectively improve the knowledge and treatment level of senile dermatosis of young doctors and related medical staff, and bring practical care and care to the elderly group.

The total number of online participants of this annual meeting reached 19,000, which fully shows that the Dermatology branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society has initially established a brand effect in the past more than a year.
