Abstract: To implement the national strategy of proactively responding to population aging, alleviate the shortage of elderly care practitioners, and at the same time guide and encourage young people to actively participate in the elderly health industry and innovation and entrepreneurship, and enhance their employment skills, on March 14, 2023, the China Geriatrics Society and the Communist Youth League Committee of Hainan Province jointly organized The opening ceremony of the "Sunrise Guarding the Sunset" campaign and the practical training on elderly health care, hosted by the Communist Youth League Committee of Sanya City, was held in Sanya, Hainan Province. This initiative will provide free training for 49 medical staff at Sanya Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is part of the "China (Hainan Free Trade Port) Youth Dream-Building Avenue" activity organized by the Communist Youth League Committee of Hainan Province.

Abstract: Recently, the large-scale health public welfare action "Love for Hometown, Gathering Love at Gaocheng Hospital" was successfully held at Gaocheng People's Hospital in Shijiazhuang City, which was hosted by the Public Health Service Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and organized by the Health and Family Planning Bureau of Gaocheng District, Shijiazhuang City and Gaocheng People's Hospital of Shijiazhuang City. The event consists of five parts: ward round teaching, free medical consultation, academic lectures, surgical demonstrations and a discussion on hospital development. Professor Li Hucheng, deputy director of the Public Health Service Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and from Changgung Hospital Affiliated to Tsinghua University, along with 12 renowned experts from Beijing hospitals, have joined hands to offer their heartfelt support and embark on a heartwarming journey together.

Abstract: The 29th National Cancer Prevention and Control Publicity Week was held from April 15th to 21st, 2023. The patient education event, jointly organized by the Oncology Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, the Biological Therapy Professional Committee of the Liaoning Anti-Cancer Association, the Liaoning Preventive Medicine Association, and the Tumor Nutrition Therapy Professional Committee of the Liaoning Nutrition Society, and hosted by the Department of Oncology of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, was successfully held. The event, themed "Cancer Prevention and Treatment, Integration Key, Safeguarding Health, You and Me Together", adopts a combination of offline practical operations and online live streaming. It aims to help more cancer patients build confidence in fighting cancer, actively accept treatment, and at the same time enhance the public's awareness of scientific cancer prevention concepts, establish a healthy lifestyle, and effectively prevent and control cancer. The event focused on the hot issues of concern to patients, covering the "prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation" of lung cancer, breast cancer and digestive tract tumors one by one, and answered questions on the spot for the patients.

Abstract: On May 12th and 13th, 2023, a medical expert team from the Precision Diagnosis and Treatment Branch of Comorbidity of the Chinese Geriatrics Society visited Yudu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, a revolutionary old area. This event was led by Professor Zheng Jingang, the president of the Precision Diagnosis and Treatment Branch of Comorbidities of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and from China-Japan Friendship Hospital. Professor Yin Tong, the executive vice president of the Second Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, and other experts participated. The expert team successively carried out public welfare free medical consultation activities in Yudu County People's Hospital and Zishan Town, Yudu. The activities provided services to over 850 people in total. At the same time, they conducted precise medication for nearly 100 elderly patients with comorbidities under the guidance of multi-drug gene testing, achieving the promotion and application of advanced precision medicine technology in grassroots medical care in revolutionary old areas.

Abstract: On June 14, 2023, Wang Guangjing, the deputy director of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, along with his team, went to the Rubber Garden Community in Tiancun Road Sub-district, Haidian District, Beijing to carry out a public welfare activity of "Party Building + Free Medical Consultation". Team members measured blood pressure and blood sugar for the elderly on the spot, conducted carotid artery ultrasound and other examinations, provided consultation on the prevention of cerebrovascular diseases and the treatment of varicose veins, as well as health education on nutrition support and exercise, helping community residents establish correct health awareness and advocate a scientific, civilized and healthy lifestyle. Abstract: Recently, a team of ultrasound doctors from the Ultrasound Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society visited the Shijiaying Community Health Service Center in Fangshan District, Beijing, to provide free ultrasound services for the elderly over 65 years old in the jurisdiction. They offered free consultation on ultrasound-related knowledge and popularization of ultrasound-related applied medical knowledge for the elderly with positive abdominal ultrasound results. We offer free consultations on the detection of gallbladder stones, gallbladder polyps, liver cysts, hepatic hemangiomas and other diseases by ultrasound, as well as health education on what to do for elderly diabetic patients with liver abscesses and the importance of ultrasound examination for chest pain in the elderly. This event is hosted by the Ultrasound Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, organized by Beijing Hospital and Beijing Fengtai Hospital, and received strong support from the Shijiaying Community Health Service Center in Fangshan District, Beijing. This event helped elderly residents in the community establish a correct health awareness and clarify the direction of diagnosis and treatment after positive cases are detected through abdominal ultrasound examinations. In the future, the Ultrasound Medicine Branch will continue to adhere to the mission of "developing geriatric medicine and serving the health of the elderly", and will persistently carry out in-depth grassroots public welfare activities for the elderly.

Abstract: From August 14th to 16th, the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, in collaboration with Hunan Provincial People's Hospital, held the grassroots free medical Consultation event of the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and the "Heartbeat in Hunan" grassroots medical consultation tour for Difficult cardiovascular diseases at Lianyuan People's Hospital and Shuangfeng County People's Hospital. Abstract: From December 16th to 17th, 2023, the "Integration of Sports and Health for Promoting Scientific Fitness in Sports Rehabilitation" event, hosted by the Hangzhou Sports Bureau and organized by the Chinese Society of Geriatrics and the Sports Health Branch of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, was successfully held at the Hangzhou National Fitness Center. The event, themed "Exercise and Rehabilitation", focused on hot issues in interdisciplinary fields such as cutting-edge digital technology and the promotion of national fitness, as well as exercise prescriptions and chronic diseases in the elderly. Abstract: On January 9th, the Chinese Society of Geriatrics visited Bao 'an District, Shenzhen in the Greater Bay Area to carry out a series of "Health Lecture Hall" activities. This activity fully integrates expert resources and injects new vitality into the elderly medical services at the grassroots level through various means such as grassroots assistance, popular science lectures, and free medical consultations. It spreads the correct concept of health to the society and practices new models and paths for elderly health services. The event presented over 200 copies of the "Caring for the Elderly" series of popular science books to various public hospitals in Bao 'an District. Experts from multiple disciplines such as cardiology and endocrinology gave lectures on their respective research fields. Abstract: Recently, the large-scale public welfare activity "Health Lecture Hall" organized by the Chinese Geriatrics Society was held in Yantai City, Shandong Province. This event, themed "Focusing on Elderly Health to Promote Healthy China", was held in a combination of online and offline formats. Over 600 elderly people participated in the event on-site, and more than 100,000 people watched it online. The event, through forms such as popular science knowledge lectures and free medical consultations by experts, promotes and popularizes new concepts, methods and technologies for elderly health, playing a positive role in enhancing the medical literacy of the elderly and spreading correct health views.

Abstract: Recently, the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and the General Hospital of the Northern Theater Command jointly organized an expert team to carry out a free medical consultation activity with the theme of "The Light of Health, Illuminating All Departments" in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. By conducting blood pressure, blood sugar and muscle strength tests for local residents, establishing health records, and holding popular science lectures on "Three Highs Co-Management and Chronic Disease Prevention and Control", we have provided a full-process service of "examination - diagnosis - intervention - care" for over 120 people.
