The first standardized Comprehensive Knowledge training course sponsored by the Chinese Geriatrics Society was held in Beijing from May 26 to 27, 2018. Vice President and Secretary General of the Army of the Chinese Geriatric Society attended the training and delivered a speech on behalf of President Fan Li. She pointed out that the standardization work of the group is a very important task of the society, and introduced the rapid response of the Chinese Geriatrics Society after the implementation of the New Standardization Law on January 1, 2018, and immediately registered on the national group standards information platform supervised by the National Standards Committee and obtained the qualification of issuing group standards. To develop, study and practice group standards related to gerontology. In order to promote the research and practice of the development of group standards of the society, the society set up a standardization management department, which is led by Vice President and director Qin Xiaoling, and hired Yang Lifei, director of the Strategy and Policy Evaluation Room (Enterprise standards Evaluation Research Room) of the Standards Evaluation Department of the China Institute of Standardization, as deputy director, to coordinate and serve the follow-up standardization work of the society.

The Secretary General of the Army responded positively to the branches, sent people to study and began to make suggestions and plans for the development of professional body standards to give affirmation, and stressed that standardization is a highly professional technical work, with its own work rules and requirements. The formulation and release of each standard reflects its scientificity, rigor, authority and universality under the guidance of evidence-based medicine methods, and none of the four is indispensable. It is hoped that through systematic training, the functional departments and branches of the society can learn standardized knowledge, master the principles and requirements for the formulation of geriatrics group standards, and lay a foundation for the research, formulation and implementation of group standards, as well as the publicity and promotion of geriatrics related group standards.

Ms. Yao Xiaojing from the Standard Technology Review Center of the National Standards Committee and Ms. Yang Lifei from the China Institute of Standardization taught four modules, "Basic Knowledge of Standardization", "Basic Knowledge and Practice of Group Standardization", "Whole process Management of Standard revision" and "Drafting of standard Draft", for most people's first contact with standardization.

The general response was that they had realized the importance of standardization for geriatric medicine work through learning, and said that the next key work was to sort out the project of formulating group standards as soon as possible by combining what they had learned, and actively promote the standardization work of the society.
