From November 4 to November 6, 2022, sponsored by the Psychiatry and Mental Health Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Organized by the Geriatric Psychiatry Group of the Chinese Medical Association Psychiatry Branch, the Geriatric Working Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association Psychiatrists Branch, the Geriatric Psychiatry Branch of the South China Psychiatric Association, the Guangzhou Mental Health Association and the Neuropsychology Group of the Guangdong Medical Association Neurology Branch. The 8th China Geriatric Medicine and Technology Innovation Conference and 2022 China Geriatric Psychiatry and Mental Health Academic Conference, co-organized by the Affiliated Brain Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, was successfully held online. The theme of the conference is ";Innovating research Perspectives and expanding discipline fields";.

Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Jiang Wen, Deputy Secretary of the National Mental Health and Mental Health Prevention Center, Zhao Xingcun, President of Guangzhou Medical University, and Professor Yu Xin, President of the Psychiatry and Mental Health Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was presided over by Secretary Ning Yuping of Brain Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University.

 

Leader's speech:

    Three important results were released at the meeting, including "Group Standards for the standardization of mental health services for the elderly", "Investigation Report on doctors' attitude towards early diagnosis of AD" and "Learning from Classic Cases of geriatric Psychiatry". The conference presentation session was chaired by Prof. Yu Xin, Prof. Ning Yuping and Prof. Xiao Shifu. The invited speaker of the conference, Prof. Lu Jiehua, made a presentation on "Active Aging and Mental Health: Connotation, Cases and Prospects "was the keynote report of the conference. Professor Zhang Zhijun elaborated on the difficulties in the study of peripheral blood biomarkers of Depression and its comparison with the progress of AD. Professor Yu Enyan introduced in detail the continuous spectrum of cognitive impairment in the Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Senile Dementia in China. Professor Wang Huali made an important interpretation of "The Development of mental health services for the aged - Concept and Practice".

In the three days of rich academic agenda, a total of one conference report, 10 sub-forums, 3 workshops and 4 special sessions were held, including invited reports, special lectures, youth forums, clinical case discussions, professional skills training and other forms of academic exchanges. The content covers the identification, management and research progress of senile depression, cognitive impairment, movement disorder, mental and behavioral abnormalities, and the submission and writing of scientific research papers. The conference was honored to invite many famous experts in the fields of geriatric psychiatry, psychology, neurology, geriatric medicine and other fields to conduct academic exchanges, and gather together to discuss hot issues of geriatric psychiatry and mental health, and discuss the future development direction of the discipline. As of the closing ceremony day, the number of online viewers has exceeded 15,048.
