The Geriatric Institution Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society was established in Beidaihe in September 2015, led by Beijing Geriatric Hospital and co-initiated and participated by the directors of 150 hospitals, including Jiangsu Geriatric Hospital, Zhengzhou Geriatric Hospital and Hebei Geriatric Hospital. In September 2021, the transition work was completed, and now it is the second Committee of the whole, and Chen Zheng, president of Beijing Geriatric Hospital, was elected as the president. The number of members is 470 by the end of 2022, mainly comprised of hospital directors and department directors.

The branch has conducted effective cooperation on the basis of resource sharing and complementary advantages, and has now become a platform for cooperation and exchange between geriatric medical institutions and colleagues at home and abroad. Always committed to promoting the construction of elderly health service system, elderly friendly hospital management and elderly clinical nutrition management service concept and management means and technology; Carry out scientific research and academic exchanges and research according to their respective development directions and needs. Hold regular lectures on geriatric professional knowledge, exchange new technologies and developments in geriatric medicine, and improve professional and operational management level; Organize members to participate in various geriatric conferences and visits at home and abroad; To provide members with guidance and advice on hospital operation, management and medical ethics.

In recent years, it has taken the lead in building age-friendly hospitals across the country. Completed the compilation of the "Elderly Friendly Service Standards", and the member units of 230 hospitals at all levels, 98% of which have passed the qualification certification of old-age friendly hospitals by the provincial and municipal health commissions. Practice has proved that this work has played a positive role in improving the service level and ability of geriatric hospitals, promoting the faster development of China's geriatric medical service, and benefiting the elderly. Completed the drafting and publication of the group target of "Clinical Nutrition Management Service Standards for Elderly Patients". Launched the "Geriatric nutrition demonstration ward construction" work, there are 76 hospitals of 104 wards, successfully passed the "Geriatric clinical.

Patient nutrition management standard "standard acceptance." Relying on the "Beijing Medical Federation Geriatric Training and Consulting Center" regularly organize various exchanges, training and inspection activities. In the past nine years, nearly 100 training sessions have been conducted, involving tens of thousands of elderly medical staff. The "Basic Requirements for Geriatric Hospital Construction" written by the branch will be promulgated immediately, which will play a positive role in promoting the development and standardized management of domestic geriatric hospitals.

The management branch of geriatric medical institutions bears too much historical responsibility for the rapidly approaching aging society. The Allies are willing to unite, work together, and work hard to write a new chapter in the cause of gerontology.
