Yu Zhen, a researcher, is currently the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Geriatric Hospital, the president of Beijing Geriatric Hospital, the director of Beijing Geriatric Health and Medical-Nursing Integration Service Guidance Center, and the director of Beijing Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Geriatrics.
He concurrently serves as the vice president of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, the president of the Geriatric Medical Institution Management Branch of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, the executive director and the director of the Geriatric Health Committee of the Chinese Community Health Association, the deputy director of the Health Care and Rehabilitation Branch of the Chinese Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics, a member of the 19th Editorial Committee of the Chinese Journal of Clinical Health Care, and a member of the National Council of the Chinese Journal of Hospital Management Executive directors, etc.
The main research directions include the construction of the elderly health service system, the elderly health and medical-nursing integration service model, and the research on elderly health policies, etc. He/She has presided over multiple projects including the ";New Model of Elderly Health and Medical-Nursing Integration Services" and the first Release Special project of the National Public Hospital Reform and High-Quality Development Demonstration Project (Haidian District, Beijing). It has taken the lead in formulating multiple standards and norms, including the industry standard of the National Health Commission "Standards for Bed Conversion between Elderly Care and Medical Areas in Medical and Elderly Care Integration Institutions", the local standard of Beijing "Service Specifications for Palliative Care in Medical Institutions", and the group standard of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics "Basic Requirements for the Construction of Geriatric Hospitals". He has served as the chief editor of the "Blue Book on the Development of Geriatric Hospitals in China" and the "Health Science Popularization Series for the Elderly", and has published many articles such as "Current Situation and Thoughts on the Construction of Elderly-Friendly Medical Institutions in Beijing" and "Expert Interpretation (Part II) of the Notice of the Office of the National Health Commission on Enhancing the Capacity of Geriatric Medical Services".
