Li Junmin is currently the vice president, director of the Difficult Cases Consultation Center, chief physician, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Wuxi Branch of Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. From 1996 to 1997, he visited the Institute of Hematology and Vascular Sciences at Paris VII University. From April to September 2001, he was a visiting scholar at the M. D.Anderson Cancer Center in the United States. Li Junmin has long been engaged in clinical research in the field of hematology in internal medicine. He has rich experience in the pathogenesis and treatment of hematological malignancies and hematological immune diseases. He has successively presided over 4 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 key project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 1 863 research special project, 1 industry special project of the Ministry of Health, and 5 ministerial-level research projects of the Ministry of Education and Shanghai. He/She has published nearly a hundred papers in domestic and international academic journals. He/She has won a total of 10 awards, including the National Science and Technology Award, the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Achievement Award, the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award and the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award. He has authored or participated in the compilation of six books and has received the EMBT Lifetime Achievement Award.

He serves as the chairperson of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and the vice president of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. Director of the Shanghai Hematology and Oncology Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, Vice President of the Hematology Branch of the China Medical Promotion Association. Chief Scientist of the key project of tumor mRNA Vaccine of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.
