On June 22, the 10th China Geriatric Medicine and Technology Innovation Conference sponsored by the Chinese Geriatric Society was successfully held in Yantai. The conference consists of one keynote forum, four roundtable forums, 31 sub-forums and 277 special lectures. More than 600 well-known academicians, experts and scholars from all over the country, from different levels and angles, jointly discussed measures and methods to promote the innovative development of geriatrics and the comprehensive implementation of healthy aging strategy.

The keynote forum, with the theme of scientific and technological innovation to promote the active health of the elderly, was chaired by Academician Fu Xiaobing, Professor He Yao, Professor Huang Yuesheng, Professor Liu Rongyu and Professor Sun Tieying. Wang Jianjun, deputy director of the Committee of Population, Resources and Environment of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, first made a special report entitled "Strategic Choices for Implementing the National Strategy to actively respond to Population aging". Wang Jianjun profoundly elaborated in the report that the positive aging concept and healthy aging are the core values of implementing the strategy of actively responding to population aging. Ji Xunming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, made a keynote report entitled "Patient-driven Hospital Research", proposing that patients should not only be the object of research, but also actively participate in all aspects of the design, implementation and outcome evaluation of research programs, so as to promote closer cooperation and interaction between doctors and patients, and help promote medical research closer to clinical practice and patient needs. Professor Xu Jiareen, president of Jiangsu Geriatrics Society, brought the "Research Report on the Shortage and Countermeasures of Medical and Nursing Professionals in Jiangsu Province", analyzed the aging population and the health status of the elderly population in Jiangsu province, the demand and shortage assessment of medical and nursing talents, and the current situation of medical and nursing talents construction, and put forward countermeasures and suggestions for the construction of medical and nursing talents.

At the four roundtable forums, 27 famous experts and scholars participated in the forum, including Academician Wang Yizheng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, International academician Li Jianan of the American Academy of Medical Sciences, tenured professor and doctoral supervisor Liao Hongen of Tsinghua University, and chief scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program Hu Jianzhong.
