Recently, at the fourth meeting of the second Committee of the Geriatric Medical Institution Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, the "Blue Book on the Development of Chinese Geriatric Hospitals" led by Chen Zheng, president of the Geriatric Medical Institution Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, and Yu Zhen, president of the Beijing Geriatric Hospital, was officially released. Chinese Geriatric Society President Fan Li and other experts and scholars attended the launch ceremony.

China Geriatric Hospital Development Blue Book (hereinafter referred to as "Blue Book") was initiated by the Chinese Geriatric Society, led by Beijing Geriatric Hospital and 21 participating units, 21 editorial board members and 28 other participating staff after six months of careful compilation, published by Beijing Yanshan Press.

Planning for the Blue Book began at the beginning of this year, and the editorial board was established in March, with President Chen Zheng and President Yu Zhen as chief editors and Dr. Song Yuetao as secretary of the editorial team. The book contains 448,000 words.

"Blue Book" by the former Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital General Logistics Department General Minister of Health, General Zhang Liping, President of the Chinese Geriatrics Society Fan Li respectively. The book is composed of background parts, exploration and innovation parts, support parts and challenges. It briefly describes the concept of geriatric medicine and the development history of geriatric medicine, and traces the difficult development course of nearly 40 years since the geriatric hospital was proposed in 1985.

The release of the Blue Book, by reviewing the development process of geriatric medical institutions, clarified the positioning of geriatric medicine and geriatric hospitals, as well as the exploration results of related work, promoted the development of geriatric hospitals, and made them an important force in implementing the national strategy to actively respond to the aging population.
