On May 17, 2025, Professor Fan Li, the president of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, and Professor Cao Feng, the vice president and director of the National Clinical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases, were invited to attend the event hosted by the Guangdong Medical Association, organized by the Geriatrics Branch, and co-organized by Jinshazhou Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. The "Academic Activity of the Geriatrics Branch of Guangdong Medical Association and the 2025 Jinsha Geriatric Critical Care Medicine and Rehabilitation Forum" held in Guangzhou. This forum brought together many experts in the field of geriatrics, critical care medicine and rehabilitation, as well as clinical workers in China. Together, they discussed the latest progress and practical experience in the field of geriatric critical care medicine and rehabilitation.

President Fan Li and Vice President Cao Feng of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, Professor Xu Lin, the director of the Geriatrics Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, and other experts and scholars, with the theme of "Geriatrics (Critical Care) and Rehabilitation Management", conducted in-depth discussions on key issues such as comprehensive treatment of elderly critically ill patients, the timing of rehabilitation intervention, rehabilitation treatment strategies, and multi-disciplinary collaboration models. The latest clinical research achievements and diagnosis and treatment experiences were shared. With the acceleration of the aging process in our country, the treatment and rehabilitation of elderly patients with severe conditions are facing huge challenges. Long-term bed rest in elderly critically ill patients is prone to cause muscle atrophy and decline in cardiopulmonary function, seriously affecting the quality of life. This forum also set up a discussion session on severe cases.
