On May 24, 2025, the "Health Lecture Hall" was successfully held in Yantai City, Shandong Province, co-organized by the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, Ludong Hospital of Shandong Provincial Hospital (Group), and Heitu Zhenxuan (Shandong) Investment Co., LTD.
This event was meticulously planned by Professor Hu Wen, Vice President of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and President of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch. Deputy Director Xu Minghao of the Yantai Civil Affairs Bureau attended and delivered a speech, expressing the intention to deepen cooperation with the society and provide better health services for the elderly. The event invited Professor Yu Pulin, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, Professor Liu Deshan, and Professor Chen Liyong, a standing committee member of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch, to give special popular science lectures on core issues of elderly health.
Professor Yu Pulin, with the theme of "Core Information on Disability Prevention in the Elderly", systematically explained the risk factors of disability and scientific intervention measures by combining domestic and international research data, emphasizing the importance of early prevention and functional exercise. Professor Liu Deshan, centering on "Lifespan and Health Preservation", starts from the concept of traditional Chinese medicine health preservation and advocates that the elderly achieve healthy aging through a balanced diet, moderate exercise and emotional regulation. Professor Chen Liyong, in response to the management of chronic diseases in the elderly, delved deeply into the clinical application of "special Medical purpose Formula Foods in elderly chronic diseases", providing professional guidance for nutritional support for patients with chronic diseases.
Vice President Cheng Zhi of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and Director Song Xina of the Clinical Nutrition Department of Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital jointly presided over the event. The event attracted over 1,200 elderly people aged 60 and above to actively participate, and the on-site response was enthusiastic. The elderly friends attending the meeting all expressed that the content of the lecture was closely related to actual needs, featuring both scientific theories and practical methods, and had significant guiding significance for enhancing their own health management capabilities. The event came to a successful conclusion amid warm applause, injecting new impetus into the elderly health promotion work in Yantai City.
Qiu Yaodong, the general director of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, said that this event is an important practice of the branch in implementing the national "Healthy China 2030" strategy.
