Xu Xiaodong, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, pointed out that the aging process of the population in China is continuously accelerating at present, and the vascular health problems of the elderly group are becoming increasingly serious. Vascular diseases have not only become the number one killer threatening the life and health of the elderly, but also impose a heavy burden on countless families. Therefore, "unblocking the blockages in blood vessels" is the key to safeguarding the bottom line of life for the elderly. Vice President and Secretary-General Xu Xiaodong stated that since its establishment eight years ago, the Peripheral Vascular Disease Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society has achieved remarkable results in all aspects of its work: First, academic training is closely related to clinical practice. The branch has continuously released multiple expert consensuses, providing practical and standardized clinical guidelines for grassroots doctors. Meanwhile, the branch has held the Geriatric Vascular Disease Conference for eight consecutive years and has gradually developed into a high-quality academic exchange platform in the industry.
