On the afternoon of April 10, 2026, the "Academic Conference on Empowering Innovative Practice of Elderly Health Management with Education, Science and Technology Talents and the Preparatory Meeting for the Second Term Change of the Health Management Branch of the China Geriatrics Society" was successfully held in Chongqing, hosted by the Health Management Branch of the China Geriatrics Society. This conference brought together experts, scholars, clinical workers and industry representatives in the field of elderly health management in China to jointly explore the cutting-edge trends and practical paths of elderly health management, and officially launched the preparatory work for the second term change of the Health Management Branch of the China Geriatrics Society.

Academic Leadership: Focusing on Innovative practices in elderly health management

The conference revolved around the theme of "Empowering Elderly Health Management with Educational Technology Talents", and many experts delivered wonderful reports. Professor Tu Qilei, in his presentation titled "Exploration of the Development of Elderly Health Management from the Perspective of Elderly-Friendly City Construction", proposed the construction of an elderly health service system that integrates medical care and elderly care and is empowered by intelligence from the perspective of the integration of urban planning and health management. Professor Li Li conducted an in-depth analysis of "Challenges and Breakthroughs in Elderly Health Management in the Era of Accelerated Aging", emphasizing the need to address the health demands of an aging society through policy guidance, technological innovation, and talent cultivation. At 3 p.m., the preparatory meeting for the second committee transition of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics was held simultaneously. The meeting was presided over by Professor Tu Qilei, the current chairperson of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, and all members of the preparatory committee attended.

The preparatory meeting first systematically reviewed the achievements made over the past five years in academic exchanges, standard setting, and grassroots promotion. Subsequently, the preparatory committee had a thorough discussion on the work plan for the change of term and the future work plan, and fully exchanged opinions on the candidates for the honorary chairperson and advisors. The draft of the scale setting plan for the candidates of the second committee of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, the draft of the qualification conditions for the candidates of the committee members, the draft of the election method of the second committee, and the draft of the agenda of the meeting for the change of term were unanimously approved by raising hands, laying a solid foundation for the continuous development of the branch.
