From April 25th to 26th, 2026, the 2026 Academic Conference of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and the 2026 Academic Conference and Public Welfare Free Clinic Activity of the Internal Medicine Professional Committee of Xinjiang Medical Association were successfully held in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. This conference is jointly organized by the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and the Xinjiang Medical Association, and co-hosted by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University and the Internal Medicine Professional Committee of the Xinjiang Medical Association.

The conference, with the special education on "Establishing and Practicing the Correct View of Political Achievements" as its main thread, closely revolved around the two core topics of "High-Quality Development of Medical and Elderly Care Integration" and "healthy aging", gathering over a hundred experts and representatives from medical institutions, elderly care service institutions, universities and research institutes across the country to conduct high-level academic discussions and practical exchanges.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Ma Xiang, deputy director of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and chief physician of the Cardiovascular Disease Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University. During the academic report session, Professor Sun Zhijun, the incoming chairperson of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and from the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army, and Professor Ma Xiang from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University jointly served as the academic hosts. Based on clinical practice and the current state of industry development, experts have provided theoretical support and practical path guidance for the standardized development and service capacity improvement of the medical and elderly care integration field from a professional perspective.
