From June 12th to 14th, 2026, the "Silver Hair Health, Passing on the Torch" series of Party building and science popularization free medical consultation activities for the elderly Health Lecture Hall, jointly organized by the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the China Geriatrics Society, the CPC Xinye County Committee, and the Xinye County People's Government, and hosted by the Xinye County Health Commission and the Xinye County People's Hospital, was successfully held in Xinye County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. This event closely adheres to the requirements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for establishing and practicing a correct view of political achievements. With Party building leadership as the core approach, it promotes the allocation of high-quality medical resources to the grassroots level, bringing high-quality health services and authoritative health science popularization knowledge to the elderly, and has received unanimous praise from the local people.

On the morning of June 13th, a multi-disciplinary expert team from the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society formed a Party member vanguard team to carry out a free medical consultation at Xinye County People's Hospital, covering six major specialties including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, stomatology, thoracic surgery and neurology. Elderly people came to the scene for medical consultation in an endless stream, and the order was well maintained. The experts patiently inquired about the medical history, carefully examined the examination reports, provided one-on-one consultations for common and chronic diseases among the elderly, elaborated on the medication norms in detail, and offered personalized diagnosis, treatment and care suggestions. They have served over 230 people in total. The elderly people all expressed: "We elderly people are really lucky. We never expected to be able to see a big expert from Beijing right at our doorstep. We no longer have to travel back and forth to other places with our old arms and legs. This is truly a great thing for us common people!" "

During the same period, the Elderly Health Lecture Hall was held in the No. 1 Hall of the Xinye County Party School. The event was delivered by Comrade Zheng Qingping, the deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Xinye County People's Congress and the chairperson of the Trade Union of Nanyang City, Henan Province, and Professor Lin Feng, the chairperson of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and a professor of Orthopedics at the Hainan Hospital of the PLA General Hospital. Professor Lin Feng stated that 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the China Geriatrics Society will thoroughly implement the health and wellness work arrangements, firmly establish and practice the correct view of political achievements, adhere to the people's health as the center, and actively respond to the instructions of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China's "Silver Age Action" on guiding professional forces to serve the elderly at the grassroots level. Adhering to the leadership of Party building, giving full play to the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members, taking "serving the people by doing practical things" as the starting point and ultimate goal, we organized a multi-disciplinary expert team to go deep into the grassroots to carry out this science popularization and free medical consultation activity, spreading health knowledge and carefully safeguarding the physical and mental health of the elderly group. The event was presided over by Director Deng Chenyang of the Nutrition Department of Xinye County People's Hospital. Professor Lin Feng from the Department of Orthopedics of Hainan Hospital of the PLA General Hospital, along with experts Xiao Rui, Ma Yongfu, He Jinwang, and Lin Zhi from the First Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, successively gave lectures. They shared their insights on six major topics of public concern: prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and cancer, spinal health care, prevention and treatment of oral mucosal diseases, diagnosis and treatment strategies for pulmonary nodules, identification of hand tremors, and cancer prevention and treatment. The course content strikes a balance between professional depth and accessible expression. It breaks down key points of prevention and treatment by combining typical clinical cases. About 850 people in the audience listened attentively and interacted actively. Their awareness of health protection and self-management ability were effectively enhanced.

During the event, the expert team also conducted on-site inspections of medical, health and elderly care related projects in Xinye County, gaining a thorough understanding of the operation of the local medical and elderly care integration service model and the current status of the elderly health service system construction. They also provided targeted guidance based on professional experience, pointing out the direction for the integrated development of elderly care and medical services in Xinye. On June 14th, the event organized expert and key personnel to carry out a special study on establishing and practicing the correct view of political achievements and a Party building-themed activity, guiding Party members and cadres to consolidate their ideological foundation, strengthen their sense of mission and responsibility, and practice the purpose of serving the people.
