This is the first time that this national public welfare project has been implemented in South China, following those in southern Anhui, Hefei, Nanchang, Jinan and other places.

At the launch ceremony, Professor Xie Julin, the Party branch secretary and director of the Burn and Wound Repair Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, delivered a welcoming speech. He said that the launch of the Guangzhou station is a concrete action to implement the development concept of "putting people's health at the center", and the hospital will spare no effort to promote the project to benefit the groups in need.

Xie Guangrong, the Party Secretary of the First People's Hospital of Zhaoqing City, pointed out in his speech that this project precisely focuses on the special and disadvantaged group of elderly people living alone, demonstrating the care of the Party organization and the humanistic warmth of public welfare power. He said that the hospital will provide standardized and continuous medical services to eligible patients in the region to ensure that the effectiveness of assistance is accurately implemented.

Professor Guo Guanghua, vice president of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics and director of the Burn and Wound Repair Branch, introduced that with the acceleration of population aging, the incidence of chronic wounds among the elderly has been continuously rising. Due to factors such as lack of care and economic difficulties, the treatment of wounds by elderly people living alone is facing greater challenges. This project aims to integrate high-quality medical resources across the country to provide free screening, precise treatment and continuous follow-up for elderly people living alone. The project is planned to be systematically advanced across the country within five years, and a diversified public welfare model of "Party building leadership - professional support - resource coordination - social mobilization" will be established. The Guangzhou station has been established at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. The Department of Burn and Wound Repair of this hospital enjoys a high reputation in the treatment of chronic and difficult-to-heal wounds such as diabetic foot and pressure ulcers, and will provide strong support for the South China region and even the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

All the participants watched the public welfare promotional video of the Guangzhou station together. The video truly depicted the predicament of elderly people living alone and patients with chronic wounds, as well as the warm moments when social love gathered, profoundly conveying the original intention and mission of public welfare assistance.

At the subsequent launch ceremony, Professor Guo Guanghua, Professor Xie Julin and Secretary Xie Guangrong, Together with Zhou Qiang, the vice president of Zhaoqing First People's Hospital, Li Jingkuang, the director of the Fifth Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Panyu District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangzhou, Zeng Yiping, the director of the Burn and Wound Repair Department of Jinshazhou Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Chen Yongzuan, the manager of Guangzhou Guotou Yuekang Meidi Elderly Care Service Co., LTD., and Wei Suwen, the manager of COSCO Shipping Health Management Co., LTD., the button was pressed, marking the official launch of the Guangzhou station. This move marks that the chronic wound assistance work for the elderly living alone in Guangzhou and its surrounding areas has entered a new stage of systematization, professionalization and normalization.

The branch has always adhered to the principle of leading the overall project with Party building, and has integrated the establishment and practice of a correct view of political achievements throughout the entire process of the construction of each station. During the advancement of the project, the branch guided all participating experts and medical and nursing Party members to adhere to the principle of seeking truth from facts and the yardstick of benefiting the people. They took the wound healing rate and the sense of gain from medical treatment of the elderly living alone as the hard indicators to test the effectiveness of the work. In the medical practice of being rooted in clinical practice and serving patients, they tempered their Party spirit and calibrated their original aspiration, truly writing their "political achievements" on the road of patients' recovery. Looking ahead, as Guangzhou Station continues to deepen its efforts in the South China region, the branch will continue to play a professional leading role in the field of burn trauma and wound repair, gather the backbone strength of Party member experts, and continuously optimize the full-chain rescue mechanism of "screening - treatment - follow-up", so that more elderly people living alone can truly enjoy high-quality and continuous medical services, and unite the public welfare force through Party building. With professionalism, we fulfill our social responsibilities and contribute the wisdom and strength of the society to the construction of a Healthy China.
