July 21-23, 2023, under the guidance of the Chinese Geriatric Society, sponsored by the Chinese Geriatric Society of Ultrasound Medicine Branch, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital hosted the third Annual Conference of the Chinese Geriatric Society of Ultrasound Medicine Branch and the 2023 national continuing medical education project -- the standardized application of new ultrasound technology in Western basic hospitals to promote the study class was successfully held in the ancient capital of Xi 'an.

Xu Xiaodong, Vice president and Secretary General of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Professor Guo Fajin, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society Ultrasound Medicine Branch, Professor He Wen, President of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association Ultrasound Physicians Branch, Professor Song Zhangjun, President of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Duan Yunyou, honorary chairman of the Cross-Strait Medical and Health Exchange Association Ultrasound Medicine Branch, and Professor Duan Yunyou, Air Force Medical University Tangdu Hospital, attended the opening The exhibition extended warm congratulations on the successful holding of the conference. The opening ceremony was presided over by Guan Xiangping, Vice President of the Ultrasonic Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Director of the Ultrasonic Diagnosis Center of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, and Ren Junhong, director of the Ultrasonic Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and director of Beijing Hospital.

This conference is a gathering of academic experts. The meeting specially invited Professor Tang Jie, Chairman of the Army Ultrasound Professional Committee, the First Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, Professor Yu Pulin, deputy director of the Institute of Geriatrics of the Health Commission and deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese Journal of Geriatrics, Professor Luo Yukun, chairman of Beijing Ultrasonic Medicine Society, Vice president of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association Ultrasonic Physicians Branch, Director of the Department of Ultrasonic Diagnosis of the First Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, Professor Zhang Bo, director of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine of Beijing China-Japan Friendship Hospital, and more than 30 well-known experts and young and middle-aged backbone physicians in the field of ultrasound medicine at home and abroad made special lectures and academic exchanges.  

This conference mainly focuses on the standardized application of new ultrasound technologies, especially for new ultrasound technologies, new businesses and new fields such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound and ultrasonic intervention applicable to basic hospitals in the west, and carries out a series of special lectures. The course covers the contents of contrast ultrasound and ultrasound intervention for common organ and system diseases of the elderly, such as prostate, kidney, liver, pancreas, uterus, heart, thyroid, parathyroid gland, rotator cuff, etc., as well as clinical evaluation of frailty of the elderly, with a view to promoting the standardized application of various new ultrasound technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases of the elderly. Provide a good learning platform for ultrasound professionals. At the same time, this conference set up an academic forum for young and middle-aged doctors, and collected and selected 15 outstanding case reports, typical cases, clinical trials, etc., invited the first author conference to exchange, invited experts to make comments, and built a platform for the majority of young and middle-aged doctors to exchange, display and improve.

During the meeting, the Standing Committee meeting of the Ultrasound Medicine Branch was held. Zhao Inherits, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Guo Fajin, President of the Ultrasound Medicine Branch, and Standing Committee members and nearly 100 members participated in the meeting, and had a warm discussion on the achievements and development direction of the branch, and voted on the candidates for the new Standing Committee and members of the branch this year.

In the conclusion of the meeting, President Guo Fajin said that with the increasingly prominent problem of aging population in China, the demand for health services for the elderly is more urgent, and ultrasound medicine has the characteristics of non-invasive, portable, economic and bed-side, playing an irreplaceable role in the diagnosis and treatment of elderly diseases. Under the leadership and guidance of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, the Ultrasonic Medicine Branch will continue to adhere to the training of "respecting doctors, healthy life" and the concept of "academic establishment, service promotion, education strengthening, innovation and management according to law", unite and cooperate, continue to give full play to professional advantages, and actively carry out academic exchanges, appropriate technology promotion and other work. In order to improve the level of ultrasound diagnosis and treatment of the elderly in China, it will play a greater role and make more contributions to the development of the health cause of the elderly.
