In response to the call of the state to "pay attention to poverty, care for the poor and care for poverty alleviation", we welcome the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Implement the "Elderly Medical Poverty Alleviation and Health Education Project" organized by the Chinese Geriatric Society. From June 28 to 30, 2019, Qin Xiaoling, Vice president of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, led experts from the Laboratory Medicine Branch to Pingshan County, Hebei Province to carry out the "Poverty Alleviation Tour in Support of old Revolutionary Base Areas" activity, and give professional knowledge lectures and professional assistance to medical workers of Pingshan County People's Hospital.

The event was held in Pingshan County People's Hospital with the theme of "Not forgetting the original heart, serving the old area, promoting health, and expert forum". Hao Chunyan, deputy governor of Pingshan County, and Li Shuzhen, director of Health Bureau of Pingshan County, participated in the expert tour.

The topic and content of this tour are based on the problems encountered by the medical staff in the local hospital in the usual work, involving all aspects. Including: pre-analysis quality management, laboratory biosafety, blood cell histogram, clinical application of scatter diagram, biochemical reaction curve interpretation, ENT secretion sampling culture identification, ELISA method quality control, how to do clinical communication, clinical rational use of blood, irregular antibody positive and difficult blood transfusion. The teaching experts of this activity are full of enthusiasm, and the work experience accumulated in peacetime is unreservedly imparted to grassroots medical workers. The leaders of the hospital and the medical colleagues in the inspection field all said with one voice that "the lectures of the experts are grounded, practical, experience, and dry goods, which is really enjoyable." Some people ask and expect, "Is it every year? When will you come back to teach us next year?" The experts were moved by the grassroots staff's desire for knowledge and their thirst for learning, and they said that they would continue to impart experience and disseminate knowledge to the majority of their peers when they had the opportunity.

In the old area, the experts visited the mausoleum of the revolutionary martyrs of the liberation of Shijiazhuang with reverence, and the Shijiazhuang Campaign was a large-scale urban assault battle in the liberation war. Hequ Village in Pingshan County is the gathering place, departure point and logistics support base of the participating troops, and the Bethune Peace Hospital is stationed in this village. Thousands of wounded in the battle were carried to the village for treatment, and more than 110 martyrs were buried on the Dongpo ridge next to the village, and each set up a monument to form a tomb group.

 When we are living a happy life in times of peace, we must not forget them! After we offer a wreath to the martyrs, we also pay tribute to General Jia who worked hard for the restoration and completion of the cemetery! The heroic deeds moved everyone, and the experts said they must remember the history, carry forward the national spirit, and cherish the hard-won life now. We drove to the River Canal Hope Primary School, which was awarded "National Defense Education Model School" by the Ministry of Education in 2018, and was welcomed by the children. When we put on the red scarf again, Vice President Qin Xiaoling gave them the blue ball and football on behalf of the experts to make them especially happy. Experts led by the principal visited the school facilities, there are multi-functional laboratory buildings, professional playground, carried out a number of community activities, they always adhere to the "let rural children enjoy the same education as the city" school thought, experts agree very much, the students many times in various competitions at home and abroad have achieved excellent results have praised. Looking at the neat campus and wide playground, appreciating the children's art works and creative crafts, and touching the shining trophies and MEDALS, we see the direction and future of sustainable poverty alleviation. The lovely smiling faces of the children are the joy after poverty alleviation, but also the hope for the future! After visiting the school, the experts took the trouble to come to the site of the ancient Zhongshan State, known as the "mysterious kingdom", where a large number of precious cultural relics are displayed. The profound history and culture of the ancient Zhongshan State as well as the cultural and spiritual characteristics of "kindness and sincerity, loyalty and stability, sadness and generosity"; shocked and amazed the experts.

On the red land of Lijiazhuang in Pingshan County, the historic leap of the United front of the Communist Party of China is engraved, the historical choices of the democratic parties are witnessed, the preparatory process of the new CPPCC is recorded, and the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system under the leadership of the Communist Party of China is nurtured. The new China united front is coming from here!

Come to Pingshan County, re-walk the red road, feel the red education. After visiting the Xibaipo Memorial Hall and Li Jiazhuang, the experts deeply realized that it is necessary to inherit and carry forward the Xibaipo spirit, inherit the red gene, and not forget the original heart for the purpose, to not forget the original heart, remember the mission as the guide, and more importantly, it is necessary to integrate the "Xibaipo spirit" into the usual work and study.

Through this tour, the experts said that the poverty alleviation tour work should continue to be done, so that more grassroots workers can acquire knowledge, serve the old areas and the people well, and make the township and county health cause better development.
