
With the gentle sea breeze caressing and egrets dancing gracefully, in Xiamen, the "Garden on the Sea" by the East China Sea, an academic grand gathering of wisdom and innovation from the field of hematology in China has arrived as scheduled. From October 24th to 25th, 2025, the "Fourth Standing Committee Meeting and Eighth Plenary Session of the Second Committee of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society" was grandly held in Xiamen. The event was hosted by the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and co-organized by Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University. This conference brought together top experts and scholars in the field of hematology in China. Through multi-dimensional exchanges in the main venue and twelve specialized sub-venues, they jointly explored the cutting-edge trends and clinical practices in geriatric hematology.
Main Venue: High-level Perspective, Jointly drawing a new blueprint for the development of disciplines

On the morning of October 25th, the main venue officially opened in a warm atmosphere. Professor Li Junmin, the president of the Hematology Branch, delivered an enthusiastic speech to welcome the experts present. President Zhang Fuxing of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University, on behalf of the co-organizers, extended his congratulations on the convening of the conference. Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, Academician Huang Xiaojun, Professor Shen Zhixiang, Professor Hu Yu, Professor Liu Daihong, Professor Ma Jun, Professor Ji Chunyan, Professor Zhang Xiaohui and other leaders delivered speeches in turn, jointly expressing their sincere congratulations and expectations. The conference was presided over by Professor Xu Bing, Vice president of the Hematology Branch and director of the Department of Hematology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University.



Subsequently, six high-level conference reports were delivered in sequence: Academician Huang Xiaojun reviewed the grand journey of "50 Years of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation"; Professor Zhang Xiaohui discusses "The New Paradigm of Transplantation Driven by Big Data" Professor Li Junmin provided an in-depth analysis of "Treatment Strategies for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in the Elderly". Professor Xu Bing systematically expounded on "Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Indolent Lymphoma". Professor Ren Ruibao shared "Innovative Research on Aging Intervention and Chronic Disease Prevention and Treatment". Professor Liu Qifa introduced "The Construction and Application of the Precision Diagnosis and Treatment System for AML". These reports possess both theoretical depth and clinical value, offering the attending scholars an academic feast that is both profound and extensive, and helping them to reach new heights in their understanding and practice in the field of geriatric hematological disease diagnosis and treatment.

On the afternoon of October 24th, the leukemia special session kicked off with a brief speech by Professor Xu Bing, Vice President of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and chairperson of the Leukemia Working Committee. Professors Xu Wei, Xu Bing, Zhang Sujiang and Jiang Qian respectively shared their insights on the topics of "Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Elderly CLL", "Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Elderly AML", "Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Elderly ALL" and "Key Points of Recommended Updates for 2025ELN CML".
