To thoroughly implement the elderly health service guarantee work, effectively safeguard the physical and mental health of the elderly group, give full play to the role of the grassroots Party organizations as a fighting fortress and the exemplary role of Party member medical workers, and actively respond to the instructions of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China on guiding professional forces to serve the elderly group at the grassroots level in the "Silver Age Action", from June 11th to 12th, 2026, The "Silver-haired Health Passed on from Generation to Generation" 2026 Elderly Health Promotion Week Party Building + Science Popularization Haikou Station Series of public welfare free Medical consultation activities, hosted by the Geriatric Medical Institution Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and organized by Hainan Geriatric Hospital, came to a successful conclusion in Haikou, Hainan. Twenty-four medical staff provided free medical consultations, consultations and screenings for 218 people, and offered home visits to 6 elderly people with mobility issues.

The event focused on the prevention and treatment of common and chronic diseases among the elderly as well as their health care needs, and set up a dedicated free medical consultation area at Hainan Provincial Geriatric Hospital. Members of the branch committee and experts, including Professors Guan Pin, Xu Tiansheng, Fu Xiumei, Liu Yanghe, and Huang Zhiping, took the lead in providing outpatient services. On-site medical staff carefully inquired about the elderly person's past medical history and daily physical condition, accurately measured basic vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse and respiration, and provided targeted answers to public concerns such as standardized medication for chronic diseases, daily health preservation and care, prevention of common diseases in the elderly, and control of complications. At the same time, based on each elderly person's symptoms, signs and illness conditions, personalized health guidance plans are customized to make the service more precise and better meet the needs of the elderly group.

Meanwhile, Party member volunteers simultaneously carried out health science popularization and education work, distributing elderly health science popularization handbooks to the elderly and their families passing by. They explained practical knowledge such as scientific prevention and control of chronic diseases, reasonable diet for the elderly, daily rehabilitation care, and home health protection in simple and understandable language, eliminating misunderstandings in elderly health care. The event site was orderly and well-organized, with a lively atmosphere for science popularization and education. Elderly people came in an endless stream to consult, truly allowing the elderly to feel professional, convenient health care and warm services.

To promote the downward flow of high-quality medical resources to the grassroots level and bridge the "last mile" of elderly health services, under the unified deployment and guidance of the branch, the Party member medical volunteer service team of Hainan Provincial Geriatric Hospital went deep into Dongying Village, Haikou City, and held a special public welfare free medical consultation activity in the village's cultural and sports activity room. After arriving at the scene, the Party member medical team quickly completed the preparatory work such as site arrangement and equipment debugging. They orderly carried out blood pressure, blood sugar, bone density, lung function and other tests for the elderly in the village, and provided services such as interpretation of the test results and disease screening. They focused on identifying potential risks of high-incidence diseases among the elderly such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and bone and joint diseases, and carefully answered villagers' daily health questions.

Medical staff patiently and meticulously carried out one-on-one health consultation services, enabling elderly people to enjoy face-to-face health services from geriatric experts in tertiary hospitals without leaving their villages. This practical and convenient measure has received unanimous praise and commendation from the villagers. For the special elderly groups in the village who are advanced in age, disabled, have difficulty moving around, or have been bedridden for a long time and thus unable to come to the free medical consultation site, the hospital organized medical backbone Party members to join hands with local police officers and village cadres to provide door-to-door medical consultation services, offering warm health care. After entering the door, the medical staff examined each elderly person's health one by one, inquired about their conditions, and repeatedly reminded them of the precautions for daily care and medication.
