The free medical consultation event was carried out in an orderly manner in the first-floor hall of Xilin Garden in Sijiqing Elderly Care Home on the morning of October 30th. Nearly a hundred elderly people with an average age of over 80 came for consultation one after another. The staff first triaged them according to their needs such as dizziness, vertigo, forgetfulness, hearing loss and cerebrovascular disease, and then guided them to the corresponding eight expert consultation tables. The experts listened patiently to the demands of the elderly, carefully inquired about their medical history and physical examination and assessment, and then wrote personalized plans for suggestions on chronic disease care, medication safety, and rehabilitation training. Their considerate service won continuous praise from the hospital and the elderly.

Although vertigo and vestibular disorders are not critical conditions, they directly affect all aspects of the daily lives of the elderly. President Yang Xu led a team to have in-depth exchanges with the elderly and guided them on how to handle various issues. At the free medical consultation table, President Yang Xu bent down to demonstrate vestibular rehabilitation exercises for the elderly and elaborated on the "three-character formula" for preventing falls. Pointing at the science popularization brochure, he patiently explained healthy lifestyles such as low-salt diets, breaking down "healthy aging" into the daily routine of three meals a day and one exercise every five steps, allowing the elderly to truly be gently embraced by science.

"Respect your own elders and those of others" is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation and also a concern for the people's livelihood of the Party in the new era. As a social organization, the Vertigo/Vestibular Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society should shoulder the responsibility and mission of serving the society. The branch will take this Chongyang Festival free medical consultation as a new starting point, continue to forge ahead, contribute to the development of the elderly health cause, and protect the most beautiful sunset with professionalism and warmth, so that "the sun shines on Chongyang Festival" "Time never grows old, but the elm remains warm" has become the most heartwarming footnote to Chinese-style modernization!
