To promote the standardized development of geriatric ultrasound medicine in our country and build a cross-disciplinary academic exchange and technology promotion platform, from December 7th to 11th, 2025, as the year draws to a close and winter deepens, The "Beijing Hospital Geriatric Vascular and Musculoskeletal Disease Ultrasound Academic Conference and the Fourth Premium Learning Class of Renal Artery Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound" jointly organized by the Ultrasound Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and Beijing Hospital (National Center for Geriatrics) was successfully held in Beijing. This event focuses on the cutting-edge of ultrasound diagnosis and treatment of vascular and musculoskeletal diseases in the elderly, gathering top experts and scholars in the domestic ultrasound and clinical fields. Through forms such as special lectures, case discussions, and practical teaching, it deepens academic exchanges and promotes standardized techniques, injecting strong impetus into enhancing the clinical and research levels of geriatric ultrasound medicine in China.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Ren Junhong, the general director of the Ultrasound Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and from the Department of Ultrasound Medicine at Beijing Hospital. Professor David from the Department of Ultrasound Medicine of Beijing Hospital extended a warm welcome to the experts and colleagues present on behalf of the department. Relying on the multi-disciplinary collaboration advantages of Beijing Hospital (National Center for Geriatrics), the branch invited a team of senior experts to systematically explain and share multiple typical clinical cases. The content is cutting-edge and highly practical. At the same time, a real-time on-site operation demonstration session was set up, and the trainees were organized into groups for practical training. The trainees were highly enthusiastic about learning and actively participated in the computer operation, truly demonstrating the distinct feature of this teaching that combines theory with practice and emphasizes clinical application. It received unanimous praise from the attending experts and trainees, fully demonstrating the significant value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases.

The Renal Artery contrast-enhanced Ultrasound Premium Learning Class has been successfully held for four consecutive years and has successively promoted the release of two important expert consensuses: The "Chinese Expert Consensus on Methods and Procedures of Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound Examination of Renal Arteries (2021 Edition)" and the "Chinese Expert Consensus on Standardized Evaluation of Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound for Renal Cortical Blood Perfusion in the Elderly (2024 Edition)" were led by Professor Ren Junhong, the general director of the branch and from Beijing Hospital. Meanwhile, Professor Ren Junhong is also the main author of the abdominal vascular chapter in "Practical Ultrasound Medicine", which is set to be published by People's Medical Publishing House in 2026, as well as the relevant chapters on renal artery angiography in "Clinical Application Guidelines for Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in China". It is worth noting that the relevant content of renal artery angiography has been included in the new version of the contrast-enhanced ultrasound guidelines for the first time. Based on the above academic accumulation, multi-center clinical research on contrast-enhanced renal artery ultrasound has been carried out in more than twenty tertiary hospitals across the country, with the aim of further promoting the in-depth exploration and standardized application of this technology.
