On November 28, 2025, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of Dayu County People's Hospital, the Science and Technology Assistance Activity of the Burn and Trauma Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society (Dayu, Jiangxi Station) and the 2025 Ganzhou City Wound Repair Quality Control Conference and Wound Repair Appropriate Technology Training Class were grandly held in the new campus of the hospital. Dayu County is located in the revolutionary old area of southern Jiangxi Province and is a red land with a glorious revolutionary tradition. In recent years, the county has continuously promoted the high-quality development of the health and medical care industry, focused on enhancing the medical service capacity at the grassroots level, and enabled the people in the old revolutionary base areas to enjoy better and more convenient medical security. This event takes "academic empowerment and precise assistance" as its main thread. Through diversified academic exchanges, practical training and clinical guidance, it injects new vitality into improving the diagnosis and treatment level of burn trauma and wound repair in the southern part of Jiangxi Province.

Zeng Zhiping, the deputy secretary of the CPC Dayu County Committee and the county's head, and Guo Guanghua, the president of the Burn and Trauma Branch of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, led a delegation of academicians and experts to attend the event. Zeng Yi, the deputy county head, presided over the opening ceremony. Zeng Zhiping pointed out in his speech that Dayu County People's Hospital has been deeply rooted in the county and serving the people for 90 years. This assistance activity is not only an important milestone in the hospital's development history, but also a key opportunity to promote the development of the wound repair discipline in the old revolutionary base area. He hopes that the hospital will take this event as a link to establish a long-term assistance and cooperation mechanism, and strive to build its own hospital into a technical highland and talent cultivation base in the field of wound repair in the southern part of Jiangxi Province, so that the general public can enjoy high-level medical services right at their doorstep. President Guo Guanghua stated that primary-level medical and health institutions are the first line of defense for safeguarding the health of the people. This event focuses on the actual needs in the field of burn trauma and wound repair, aiming to effectively help grassroots hospitals enhance their specialized service capabilities through academic guidance and technological penetration. At the opening ceremony, academicians and experts jointly unveiled the plaque for the "Wound Repair Surgery Department of Dayu County People's Hospital", marking an important step towards professionalization and standardization in the construction of the wound repair discipline of the hospital, and also providing a more precise and reliable diagnosis and treatment platform for relevant patients in the southern part of Jiangxi Province. The expert team also presented a batch of professional academic works to the hospital, providing solid theoretical support for the growth of talents and technological progress in the department.

After a brief opening ceremony, the academic exchange session began. Academicians, experts and local medical staff engaged in in-depth discussions and shared experiences on themes such as the management of difficult-to-heal wounds in the elderly, cutting-edge wound repair technologies, and clinical practice norms. By integrating theoretical teaching with practical demonstrations, they provided the participants with a rich and clinically relevant academic training. Subsequently, the expert team conducted teaching ward rounds in the wards and held public welfare free medical consultation activities. Through face-to-face diagnosis and treatment guidance, case analysis and technical demonstrations, they effectively helped grassroots medical staff improve their practical abilities, and also enabled local residents to truly feel the "expert services at their doorstep".

Looking ahead, the Burn and Trauma Branch of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics will continue to adhere to the working principle of "academic guidance, resource allocation, precise assistance, and long-term co-construction", and will continuously promote the extension of high-quality medical resources to the grassroots level. The branch plans to establish a regular and systematic grassroots assistance mechanism. Through regular technical training, remote consultation, discipline co-construction, and talent pairing, it aims to help more revolutionary old areas and remote regions enhance their capabilities in the diagnosis and treatment of burns, trauma, and wound repair. The branch will further deepen its cooperation with grassroots hospitals, promote the standardized construction of specialized departments, cultivate a group of professionals who are rooted in the grassroots and have excellent technical skills, and ensure that cutting-edge medical technologies truly benefit the grassroots people. In the future, the branch will continue to expand the coverage of assistance, innovate service models, and make positive contributions to realizing the Healthy China strategy and strengthening the foundation of grassroots health care.
